EC45 or Error Code 45

Navien error code 003 indicates an ignition failure.

1. Check Gas and Power:

• Gas Supply: Verify the gas supply valve is fully open and that the gas cylinder (if applicable) is not empty. 

• Power: Ensure the unit is properly connected to a power source. 

2. Inspect the Ignition System:

• Igniter and Flame Sensor: Look for any signs of damage or wear on the igniter and flame sensor. These components may need cleaning or replacement. 

• Air Intake Filter: A clogged air intake filter can restrict airflow, preventing ignition. Clean or replace the filter if needed. 

• Wiring: Check the wiring connections to the flame sensor and igniter. 

3. Check Venting:

• Blocked Vent: Ensure the venting system is not blocked or obstructed, as this can also cause ignition failure. 

4. Potential Repairs:

• Flame Rod Assembly: Replacing the flame rod/igniter assembly may be necessary. 

• Gas Pressure: Verify the gas pressure is within the correct range for the unit, especially if multiple fixtures are drawing hot water. 

• Control Board: In some cases, the control board may need to be replaced.
